Bridges to the Past guide you through Sæby's rolling beech forest, shaped by the Ice Age and filled with forgotten connections – bridges of wood and iron, where footsteps of the past can still be sensed. Here you cross bridges that have carried both love and train carriages, cobblestone dreams, and the steps of childhood.
Here you walk along paths where Golden Age painters immortalized the forest's green depths, and where the path of love still holds quiet stories. On your way, you pass the Mousetrap – an almost magical colossus of concrete that forms a portal between the tranquility of the forest and the city.
Another of the bridges is named Adda Ravnkilde's Bridge – a tribute to Sæby's own author, who was ahead of her time. The Bridges to the Past thus connect more than just landscapes; they also bridge Sæby's past and present.
On this 5 km hike, the bridges weave the city's history together – from the castle to the forest, from town to harbor – in one poetic encounter
