Experience Nordhavn – an audio walk with 10 stops in Copenhagen's newest district, where cranes meet a completely new way of city building.
Test your knowledge and quiz along the way – fun with groups!
Hop on the metro and experience the modern waterside district just 15 minutes from Copenhagen's Central Station.
Nordhavn is Copenhagen's youngest district - and the most controversial. Just twenty years ago, this was a working port with containers and cranes. Today, the new city is rising faster than any other district in Denmark's history.
This audio walk takes you through 10 stops, from the dense Århusgade Quarter to the outer piers. You pass cranes that once lifted shiploads and have now been converted into a hotel, and you stand at Kronløbsøen, where Copenhageners swim in the summer (and winter).
Along the way, you hear about the voices building Nordhavn right now – the pioneers who have chosen to move here while the district is still under development. You hear about the water cooling the buildings, about the award-winning architecture, and about concerns that commercial interests might overshadow cultural ones.
